This is a special rice from Sri lanka.A dish of Yellow rice take part of any type of special function & it is with good aroma too.


2 cup long-grain rice; (or basmati)
3 cups of  water to cook rice
1 1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 teaspoon turmeric
4 whole cloves
1 1-inch cinnamon stick
3 bay leaves

2-3 tbs thick coconut milk

Heat a pan with oil.add onion & fry until golden brown.keep it aside.Fry cashew too.

Add other ingredients & cook rice.
After rice cooked, Remove the whole spices and fluff the rice with a fork
Heat pan with few drops of oil or Ghee, add cooked rice & mix well.
Then add fried onion & cashew & mix.
Yellow rice is ready to serve.
