Mild Spicy Sri Lankan Cabbage Curry with Potatoes

Sri Lankan Recipe:Cabbage Curry with Potatoes(Gowa Curry)
Sri Lankan Recipe:Cabbage Curry with Potatoes(Gowa Curry)
Sri Lankan Cabbage Curry
This Cabbage curry (Gowa curry) is a simple side dish cooked in coconut milk. It is mild spicy due to use of green chilly. I usually cook it with potato, so the taste is good & curry is thick. Instead of potatoes, try this curry with some Masoor Dhal. That tastes well too.

Sri Lankan Recipes
Here is the recipe for Sri Lankan style Cabbage Curry

Ingredients: (for 3-4 servings)
Cabbage 150g
1 medium sized potato
2-3 green chili sliced lengthwise
½ medium sized onion sliced
1 sprig curry leaves
1inch piece pandan leaf/(rampa)
¼ tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp curry powder
1 tsp fenugreek seeds
Piece of cinnamon
Salt to taste
1 cup thick coconut milk

Method
Wash & slice cabbage into small pieces.
Peel & slice potato into thin slices.
Put these ingredients in a cooking pan & mix all other ingredients mentioned above.
Cover & cook in low heat until potato is cooked. (that duration is enough for cook cabbage)
Add some water if required.
Adjust salt to taste.
Serve with rice & other curries.
