Grill and Griddle Cooking Tips

Grill and Griddle Cooking Tips

Hosting dinner tonight? You know it won’t be complete without some griddled or grilled food, right? Having this in mind, you should prepare your grill and get ready for the party. But first, you may want to learn a few grill and griddle cooking tips to make the experience a walk in the park.

A cookout may breathe some life into the munching party, especially if you’re hosting many people.

Ready? Let’s check out some incredible cooking tips for your upcoming griddling session, shall we?

Prepare Your Ingredients Beforehand

The pleasant thing about a griddle is how fast it cooks food. Even so, this can turn out awful if you can’t keep up with the pace. How do you make sure your food doesn’t burn? Simple; prepare all the spices and ingredients you need in advance. This way, you won’t be torn between trying to save your food from burning and cutting ingredients.

Early preparations will make your griddling episode easy-breezy – the perfect recipe to avoid surprises.

Grill and Griddle Cooking Tips

Don’t Let Your Food Stick on the Griddle

Apart from accidentally adding the wrong spice in food, watching your steak get stuck on the griddle is another heartbreaking thing in the kitchen. It can be worse for lighter foods like eggs and pancakes.

But since you are a genius, you will apply enough oil or butter on your griddle. Alternatively, having some non-stick cooking spray in a squeeze bottle can come in handy. Whatever happens, make sure your food doesn’t stick on the pan.

Use 2 Sizeable Stainless-steel Spatulas

Depending on the size of what you’re griddling, you will need a suitable spatula that flips it over without breaking it. Stainless-steel spatulas are fantastic when it comes to flipping grilled food.

Using two spatulas will also make your work easier. But then, you need to learn and practice the art first. You don’t want to watch your bacon fly in the air and end up in the kitchen sink.

Have Different Temperature Zones

Since you won’t griddle all pieces at once, some will cook faster than others. Therefore, regulate the burners to create several temperature zones, with some being hotter than others. This works perfectly if you’re using a built-in griddle on a range.

With this style, you will manage to keep your already cooked food warm and continue cooking other pieces.

Drain Excess Grease

When cooking greasy foods like bacon, excess grease can form on the griddling pan. Excess oil will ruin the appearance, cooking experience, and even the taste of your food. If you’re using a grill, you won’t have to worry about grease. But if you’re cooking on a griddle pan, you may need a mechanism of draining excess of it.

Use a Pair of Oven Gloves

When cooking on a griddling pan, there’s no guarantee that the handles won’t heat up. So, brace yourself with a pair of oven mitt to prevent burns. Gloves can help a great deal in maintaining grilling safety.

Over to You

I bet you are now ready to face your griddle pan and grill your food away. But wait, do you even have a griddle pan? If you don’t, consider buying an electric griddle and try out the world’s most spectacular griddling recipes. If you already have one, then get busy in the kitchen – dinner time is approaching.
