Pasta in Bell Pepper and Tomato Sauce

written by Amila Gamage Wickramarachchi October 29, 2015
pasta cooking tips

Have you tried Pasta in Bell Pepper and Tomato Sauce? I tried it and this is really flavorful with tastes of bell pepper. I used red bell pepper, so the pasta dish is colorful and inviting. I usually like to cook pasta in different recipes and this time I used penne pasta. But, you can still use spaghetti in the same recipe.

When you cook pasta, cook it till al dante. This will give you a perfect pasta dish. Also add pinch of salt to the water you boil pasta. But don’t add oil into water as some suggest. There is a reason. Why? When you add oil to pasta boiling water, there will be an oily coating around pasta. Once you add the sauce to pasta dish, it will not combine with pasta properly if there is an oily coating. Final result is a pasta dish with reduced taste. I also learned this tip later after reading some posts.

Thanks for sharing this, I love simple pasta recipes and this one might even get my son to eat bell peppers, considering he won’t really see them and think it’s all tomato 😉

So… pinned!
