Ice Cube Tips To Keep Your Drinks Cold

written by Amila Gamage Wickramarachchi September 15, 2017
Grapes and Orange juice

Nothing tastes better on a hot summer day than a cold, icy drink. The sound of ice cubes clinking in your glass is delightful, and they make your drink look good as well. If you want to know how to keep your drinks cold and make your ice cubes even better, read on for some tips.

Don’t Store Ice In The Trays

Ice cube trays are a fast and efficient way to make ice, but you shouldn’t store the ice in the trays. The best way to store your ice is to take it out of the trays and store it in a freezer bag. You can make more ice this way and it won’t evaporate. When you store your ice in the trays it is also likely to pick up the odors from the freezer.

If you are out and about then a portable ice maker can be great and allow you fresh and cool ice when you need it. Check out these Nugget ice maker reviews to get an idea.

Use Muffin Tins To Make Large Ice Cubes

The bigger your ice cube is, the longer it is going to keep your drink cold. If you want to keep your drinks as cold as possible, use muffin tins to make large ice cubes. Use the muffin tins to keep larger drinks cold for longer. They make fantastic ice cubes and they will keep your drinks cold for a very long time.

At our home,we also use different shaped ice trays to make ice cubes 🙂

Make Ice Cubes From Coffee

If you love drinking iced coffee in the summer, you know that ice cubes can water your coffee down. If you don’t drink your iced coffee fast enough, before you know it, the drink is so watered down that it is hard to enjoy. To keep your iced coffee cold and tasting amazing, you want to make your ice cubes out of coffee. Your drink won’t weaken and you will enjoy every drop.

Keep Your Drinks Cold With Frozen Fruit

Ice Cube Tips

Another great way to keep your drinks cold and delicious is to use frozen fruit to keep your drinks cold. You can eat the fruit as it melts and it adds flavor to your drinks. Freeze grapes or make melon balls and freeze them on baking sheets. Your drinks will taste even better with some delicious frozen fruit.

When you think outside of the box, your drinks are going to taste and look better. An ice cold drink is one of the best things about summer.

Love the idea of freezing coffee! I don’t know why I’ve never thought of that. I avoid making iced coffee because I don’t want it watered down. I do believe in moving my ice to a freezer bag, my grandmother taught me that one. I’ve never frozen fruit before but it will work out great for my punch bowls. Thanks!

Those little star ice cubes are so cute! You are also right about iced coffee. Often times I feel like I’m just drinking coffee-flavored water at the end.

I love these refreshing ice cube tips! Thanks so much for those. Here in California the weather is still very warm and we’re drinking ice-cold drinks to help battle the heat.

We found out about the ice out of trays on accident (prepping for a hurricane because stores were out of ice). You’re 100% right though, ice tastes way better out of the trays.

I love all of these ideas to keep our drinks cold. Not Storing ices in a tray is a very good idea because it is so hard to get the ice out afterwards. Thanks for sharing.

Totally love all of the ideas though I must say that I like the one where you free coffee as ice cube seeing as I’m a coffee lover myself. That star-shaped ice cubes look cute too.
