This stir-fried prawns well goes with plain rice and other side dishes.If you like seafood or specially prawns,here is a prawn recipe from Sri Lanka. This may be bit spicy, but as always you can adjust the spices.
Ingredients (2-3 servings)
Prawns 100g (cleaned & removed the shell)
1 onion sliced
1 tomato chopped
1 tsp chili powder
1 tbs curry powder
¼ tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp mustard seeds
1 tsp fenugreek seeds
Piece of cinnamon stick
Curry leaves
Piece of a pandan leaf (rampe) (optional)
1 cardomom
2 cloves
2 tbspn Oil
Salt to taste
1 tsp ginger garlic paste
Method
Wash clean prawns.
Mix all powdered ingredients above listed with prawns & keep aside.
Heat about 1-2 tbspn oil in a pan.
When it is hot, add mustard seeds.
When it is pop out, add cardamom, cloves, ginger garlic paste & fenugreek seeds.
Then add onion. Saute few minutes
Once onions are tender, add tomato & curry leaves/rampe. Mix well.
Sauté few minutes until tomato becomes soft & looks as a sauce.
Then add prawns which already mixed spices. Mix well.
Cover & cook for about 1 minute.
Then add about ¼ cup of water, cover & cook for few minutes until prawns are done.
Adjust salt to taste.
Serve & Enjoy !!
