This Mango Sago Dessert is a delicious way to prepare a quick dessert when you are in a hurry. If you look for easy ways to add mangoes to your recipes then try this Mango Sago dessert instead of Sri lankan very popular Sago dessert (Saw Kanda)
I tasted this dessert in a restaurant and was excited with its taste. But that was called ‘Mango sago Pamela’ dessert and was made using mango, sago & also pomelo (a kind of orange/citrus fruit).
Anyway I did a change to the recipe. I used Mango & Sago only. Oh it came out delicious!!
Here is the recipe.
Recipe: Mango Sago Dessert
Ingredients (2 portions)
1 ripe mango
4 tbsp of sago pearls (soak in cold water for half an hour)
1 cup evaporated milk
1 cup water
2-3 tbsp sugar (optional)
Method
Boil 3-4 cups water in a saucepan.
Add sago pearls and bring it up to boil.
When it boils, continue to stir for about minute. The sago pearls should be boiled until transparent
Then drain the sago using a strainer, and add sago to cold water until it cools down and drain again.
Meanwhile peel and cut mango into cubes. Keep about 3-4 spoon of mango cubes aside.
Blend the rest of the mango, with the water until smooth. Add sugar if you like sweet taste.
In a mixing bowl, mix the blended mango, cubed mango which we kept aside, and milk. Stir well. Add in the sago pearls and stir until well combined.
Chill and serve.
