Broccoli Stir fry in soy sauce

This Broccoli stir fry is a really easy recipe to try. Eating healthy is essential these days and green veggies are must have food items in any daily meal. With high amount of folate, broccoli is in top of the healthy vegetable list and not only healthy, broccoli makes many delicious dishes too.

Recently I cooked broccoli as a stir fry and I am happy I could keep its beautiful green in the dish giving it a more appealing look. Of course, if you don’t destroy natural color, it will both healthy and appealing.

Before cooking, I just blanched broccoli for few minutes and then added to cold water to stop further cooking. So, the vibrant green is there in my final broccoli dish. If you like to try a quick and healthy broccoli dish, then here is the recipe for broccoli stir fry in soy sauce. See whether you like to try it or not.

Recipe: Broccoli Stir Fry in Soy Sauce

Ingredients (Serves 1-2)

400g Broccoli
2 tbsp olive oil (or cooking oil)
3 cloves garlic, minced
1-2 cups Hot water to blanch Broccoli

For the Sauce

1 tbsp oyster sauce
1 tbsp soy sauce
2 tbsp water
Pinch of corn starch

Method

Wash and cut broccoli into small florets.

Blanch broccoli in hot water for about 1-2 minute. Then drain water and add into a bowl of cold water. This will avoid over cooking of broccoli. So, the beautiful green colour will remain for the dish. keep aside

Mince the garlic and keep aside.

Mix all ingredients under sauce and keep aside.

To prepare the dish,

Heat oil in a pan and then stir fry garlic until fragrant.
Then add broccoli and sauce. Stir fry till broccoli florets are coated in the sauce for about 30 seconds.

Remove to a serving plate.

Sprinkle some pepper if you like.(optional)

Serve & enjoy!

Simplicity but so loved. I too blanched and soak in cold water to stop the cooking process.
