Some of health benefits of Corriander are as follows.
Coriander & Ginger both have medicinal benefits. In Sri Lanka we use Coriander (koththamalli) & ginger (Inguru) tea as a cure for common cold. This can be said as a home remedy, however most Sri Lankans are used to drink it. Even this tea is beneficial on reducing muscle pain.
Typically coriander has cooling effect, but when it is combined with ginger, it provides a balanced heat. In this way, this coriander & ginger tea is claimed as a remedy for cold or sore throat.
We have a practice of drinking this tea specially when feel symptoms of cold. By experience, we know that we can prevent cold if drink this when the symptoms are appear.
Here is the recipe for Ginger & corriander tea.(inguru koththamalli)
Ingredients (for 2 cups)
Coriander seeds ½ cup
About3 inch piece of Ginger
Water 3 cups
Sugar or honey (optional)
Wash coriander seeds.
Peel the skin of ginger & slice into pieces.
Boil in law heat. Boil until it becomes around 2 cups.
Strain the drink to another glass (separate from coriander seeds & ginger)
Add sugar or honey as per taste.
Serve it hot.
