Spicy Banana Peppers Stir Fry with Canned Tuna

Malu Miris or Banana Chili Peppers are a commonly used type of chili in Sri Lankan cooking. However we use this chili pepper as a vegetable though it is still spicy. This dish is cooked with Canned tuna and Banana Peppers.It is spicy,but goes well with plain rice.
If you love cooking canned tuna in a curry,then check this Canned Tuna fish curry recipe too.
In case if you look for a vegetarian dish,simply avoid tuna fish.Follow the recipe instructions with only banana peppers as main ingredient.

Spicy Banana Peppers Stir Fry with Canned Tuna

Recipe : Spicy Banana Peppers Stir Fry with Canned Tuna

Ingredients: (4-5 servings)
Β 
1 can of tuna flakes
4-5 Banana Peppers sliced
1 large onion sliced
1 tomato cut in to cubes
1 tspn ginger garlic paste
1 sprig of curry leaves
Β½ tspn mustard seeds
Piece of cinnamon
1tsp red chili flakes
1/4 tsp crushed pepper
ΒΌ tspn turmeric powder
Salt to taste
Cooking oil 2 tbsp
Method:
Β 
Wash & prepare ingredients as in the list.
Drain out the liquid of canned tuna.
Heat oil in a pan; add mustard seeds when oil is heated up.
Once mustard seeds start to pop up, add ginger garlic paste.
When ginger garlic paste gives good aroma, add onion and curry leaves
Fry for 1-2 minutes. Then add turmeric powder to this.
Then add sliced banana peppers and mix well.

Canned Tuna and Banana Peppers Stir Fry

Add chili flakes, tomato and fry for a minute.
Finally add the tuna flakes and season with salt and pepper.
Mix well and fry for another few minutes.
Serve with plain rice, roti or bread.
