Instead of a recipe post, today I want to introduce a site where you can easily find free educational games for kids. Among different categories of games, I like to introduce some of the food educational games for kids as my son loves playing these games. As a mom who limits his screen time, I found these games are educational and suit young children. He enjoyed playing these games while learning some food facts and here is our review.
During the school holidays with limited outdoor activities, the child was totally bored. But, Covid has prevented us from travelling. We didn’t visit for our holidays in Sri Lanka for almost 2 years. We even didn’t travel to any other country during these two years. Other than that, it is sometimes difficult to keep an active child inside the home without different activities. Finally, these online games could give me some peace. But, I should say these are some educational games and it is always our responsibility to monitor what children do online.
I found free online games at culinaryschools.org and then tried a few before I showed it to the kid. He loved playing some of the games including recycling games. Anyway, in this food blog, I like to share some of our favourite food education games that you can introduce to your children as well. Some of these are suitable for adults as well. Also, read about these benefits of playing cooking games with kids.
Fruit Sorting Game
Fruit Sorting Game is suitable for little kids. It includes matching patterns. Although 8 years old, my child loves this game when he was bored. While sorting different fruits to their matching category, kids can learn fruit names, colours and shapes. My son enjoyed this game and he could easily score within the given time. It can be due to him being a grown-up child compared to a preschooler. Anyway, this game is designed for kids below first grade.
Coffee shop
With our experience, coffee shop is not a very easy game to play by a little kid. It needs knowledge about currency. It is a simulation game and it will help children to learn about managing the monthly budget for running a café for a month. Although my child played this, he also wanted my support in some instances. However, he enjoyed playing this game and he could use his skills on money and inventory. But, actually, this is a game where both mom and child play. We recommend this game for grown up children who has some basic money skills. It is a good way to learn more about managing an inventory for a coffee shop. It is a challenging game that stimulates your child’s skills! Check coffee shop game.
On this site, there are different games for children. Those are not only about food. We also found some educational games about recycling and enjoyed playing those. Finally, this site is a resource for finding educational games for children. For other available food educational games for kids, check here.
