Iced Lemon Tea with Ceylon Black Tea

written by Amila Gamage Wickramarachchi February 26, 2014
Iced Lemon Tea with Ceylon Black Tea

I like Ice Lemon Tea, but so far I didn’t try it at home.Few days ago I tried homemade Iced Lemon Tea with the high quality Ceylon Black tea I received recently. For this tea I used the samples from Dimbula Region(grown between 4000ft-6000 ft). Anyway, if you check my previous post about how to make a cup of tea, I shared some information about Ceylon Tea, which is popular as the best black tea of the world. Not only for plain tea, Ceylon black tea can be used in different tea recipes.
So,here is another recipe to try with, it is good for summer and serve chilled or with ice cubes. Another great thing is, this Ice Lemon tea is well known for weight loss.If you try to lose some weight, just make it a habit to sip a tea with lemon flavor.

Here is the recipe for Iced Lemon Tea with Ceylon Black Tea
Ingredients (for 1 glass of tea)
2 tspn of Black tea leaves (I used Ceylon Black Tea)
1 glass of water
1/4 cup lemon juice
2 tbspn sugar(or as per taste)
Method:
Boil water. When It is boiling add tea leaves. Brew the tea as shared in this post.
Strain the tea once it is brewed.
Then add lemon juice.
Add the sugar and mix well.
Refrigerate and serve chilled.
Add some slices of fresh lemon to enhance the flavour while serving.

Was in Sri Lanka about 2 weeks back and tried the varieties of tea. Lovely taste I must say. The addition of lemon is perfect for the burning and killer heat wave we are going through. So refreshing.
