5 Easy Hacks for Boosting Calorie Burn

written by Food Corner January 25, 2019
Boosting Calorie Burn

Everyone knows exactly what is necessary to burn calories and lose some of that extra weight. To shed those spare pounds, you have to eat a little less and exercise a lot more. The only real way to burn a significant number of calories is to exercise, which will in turn boost your metabolism. Those with a fast metabolism will end up burning more calories even when they are at a resting state. Since it takes some time to safely and healthily boost your metabolism, here are five easy hacks for increased calorie burn. Use some or all of them together to melt those pounds and reveal a tighter, trimmer figure.

1. Working Out on an Empty Stomach

Most people who don’t lead a healthy lifestyle can find themselves really dragging at the beginning of the day. After waking up from a restful sleep, your body is in fasting state, which is why doctors and nutritionists suggest eating a balanced yet light breakfast. By working out soon after you wake up you are guaranteed to exercise while your stomach is empty. This calorie burning hack will yield results while helping you to start your mornings off with a kick.

2. Drinking Ice Water

Have you ever taken a long swig of ice water and immediately felt a chill run through your body? The reaction you felt was your core body temperature dropping just enough to make your body involuntarily work to warm yourself up. Teeth chattering and shivering both work to raise your body temperature up, and in turn burn calories. Consider drinking your water with a few extra ice cubes if you are looking to really boost your calorie burn.

3. Wearing a Sauna Suit

Normally people sweat while exercising vigorously, moving their muscles, and raising their heart rate. You may also sweat when it is exceedingly hot, you are wearing extra layers, or even after consuming some super spicy foods. Sauna suits make it so that you break a legitimate sweat without lifting a finger. You can try a sauna sweat suit while you work out to increase your calorie burn rate. Sit at home with your sauna suit on while reading a good book to help relax as well as to reduce your figure.

4. Doing Weight Training

Increased cardiovascular exercise is the key to seeing a substantial loss in weight, but it isn’t the only way to reach your goal. The fact of the matter is that you don’t need a gym membership or even to do traditional exercise to burn those calories off. There are video games that have been created to help people become more active, no matter what their starting point is. Tai chi and water aerobics are some great low impact exercises that everyone from morbidly obese people to senior citizens have taken a liking to. Then there is weight training, which just requires you to stand in place as you complete repetitions. You will feel the burn as you complete a weight training circuit as well as burn a lot of calories.

5. “Cheating” On Your Diet Once a Week

This tip works to keep your metabolism up by tricking your body into thinking that you have permanently fallen off the wagon. In essence, strictly eating healthy is great for your body in the long run. You will get the right amount of nutrients and your body will learn how to calibrate itself perfectly to utilize everything you consume. But by having a cheat day, you will be putting your metabolism into overdrive. The few days following your cheat day is when you might notice that you have more energy and even feel a bit more hungry than normal.

It can be hard to decide yourself how to burn more calories and lose weight. Without direction, it can feel like every day is exactly the same and that you aren’t seeing any substantial results. Give your diet plans a boost by trying out these calorie burning hacks. You will be able to change things around, get some variety in your routine, and burn calories at an even faster rate.
