Simple food garnishing

Easy Table Centerpiece with Fruits

written by Amila Gamage Wickramarachchi October 9, 2014

Easy Table Centerpiece with Fruits

This is a very simple idea for a table centerpiece. What else can I do if I run out of time? We had a celebration during last weekend. My son turned into one. I will post some of his first Birthday Party photos soon.Until that, today I thought of sharing this simple table decoration from the Birthday Party.

Although we ordered food from a catering service, I still cooked some vegetarian foods. We invited few friends for the lunch. Time ran so fast and I found I didn’t have time for any garnish or a simple carving as I planned.

So here is what I came up with!

Luckily we didn’t throw the top of pineapple when we prepare the fruit platter. Actually I asked my husband to keep it till we finish all other things. I had a feeling that this pineapple top would be great for a decoration.

Here is what I did.

  • I used a white plate for the centerpiece arrangement.

  • Placed the Pineapple top on a side of the plate.

  • Then I used my V-shape cutter and halved an orange.

  • After that I kept two halves of cherry tomatoes on oranges. Aren’t these orange halves colourful?

  • Finally, I used some strawberries and cherry tomatoes together with orange halves to arrange the centerpiece.

  • To make the arrangement more beautiful, I used a flower pot and filled with grapes. Actually I didn’t have much grapes remaining. We used those in fruit platter. Here is the trick. Inside the flower pot, I kept a small drinking glass upside down. Therefore a little space remained for any other filing.

  • I filled the remaining space with grapes.

  • A glass jar filled with pickled vegetables added more beauty for the arrangement.

In less than 10 minutes, I was ready with the easy table centerpiece.
My friends told that it was nice. What is your idea?

Isn’t this good as a table decor? Please share your idea. I am eager to hear.

Hi Amila, very pretty decoration. Agree with you, fruits are the best decoration for centerpiece and it’s edible too. Don’t waste the pineapple crown, great for display. I just used it for my latest posting to made parrot. :))

Have a nice day, regards.
