Pea Sprout & Fenugreek Sprout Stir Fry

written by Amila Gamage Wickramarachchi March 13, 2012

Few days ago I bought some pea sprouts; anyway I haven’t cooked it before. While searching for a recipe, I found this Sprout Stir Fry recipe from Recipelion & thought of trying it. Anyway I have done some changes to original recipe as of ingredients I had. As an addition I added some fenugreek sprouts & taste was so good. Also I used some rice wine to get the flavour.
Fenugreek sprouts are homemade using 2 tbspn seeds & it took about 2 days to get the sprouts. And I noticed that the bitter taste is lower in fenugreek sprouts than in seeds.
Finally here is my recipe for Pea Sprout Stir fry.
Ingredients
2 cups pea sprouts
2 tbspn fenugreek sprouts
2 tbspn light soy sauce
2 tbspn Rice wine (Optional)
1 tspn corn flour dissolved in 4 tbspn water
1 tbspn cooking oil
2 tspn minced ginger & garlic paste
Method
In a cup, mix soy sauce & rice wine together & keep aside.
Wash & clean the pea sprouts well.
Heat oil in a pan over high heat. Once oil is hot, add ginger garlic paste.
Stir fry for few seconds until get good aroma.
Then add pea sprouts & Fenugreek seed sprouts. Mix well & stir fry for about 1 minute.
Now add the mix of soy sauce & rice wine & mix well.
In medium flame, add the corn flour mix.
Mix well & allow the mix to become thicker. But don’t over cook.
Remove from the flame.
Serve hot.
