Decorating with Buttercream Roses

written by Amila Gamage Wickramarachchi November 25, 2011
Here is my try of making roses with butter cream icing. Cakes and flowers are always the best combo to celebrate any occasion.Still I am very new to cake decorating & here is my 1st try of making roses. You can see that with these photos.Even the out lines are not straight & smooth. 🙂
And I don’t have some correct tools yet,so I used alternative methods. 🙂
This cake was done few months ago, but I couldn’t post it. Today I thought of posting few cakes I have done earlier. There is a reason for it….Because again I am in a mood to decorate some cakes.
Here is a video on how to make roses with buttercream icing.

It’s definitely not easy to make buttercream roses! My mother was an award-winning, self-taught cake decorator and she took great pride in her buttercream roses! Practice makes perfect! Thanks for sharing!

Wonderful! This doesn’t look like your first attempt at all…This is the next item on my agenda too…decorating cakes!
