Easy Cheese Sauce with Tortilla Chips

Easy appetizers are my anytime favourites  specially during the holiday season. During the weekend, I prepared some finger foods and wanted to spend less time in the pantry. Chips and dips are always on demand when it comes to finger foods. So, this is about an easy cheese dip with tortilla chips.

Now, when it comes to tortilla chips, I bought them. These chips are not homemade. Instead I cooked a cheesy sauce to go with few chips.

I had some cheese slices waiting in the fridge and wanted to finish those before the expiry date. So, definitely I wanted to try a dip which needs more cheese. However most cheese dips call for different cheese including cream cheese. Finally I adapted this recipe using a nacho cheese sauce recipe. But I didn’t use flour for this sauce. Also I added some chopped parsley, green chili and onion to add some savoury flavor.

The sauce was creamy and thick with mild taste of herbs. It was so quick to make this Cheese sauce and we had a good finger food to watch tv.

If you look for some easy appetizers or finger foods to please family members or even some guests, try this without thinking twice. It is really easy and more than that it was nice on the platter with some chips.

Heat a medium saucepan over medium heat and melt butter .
Then pour the milk into saucepan and stir well.
Then add cheese. Continue to cook in low flame.
Add chili, onion and parsley.Cook in low flame  and stir until cheese has melted.
Simmer about 10 minutes till all ingredients are well blended.
Serve with Tortilla chips.
