Nobody can deny the combination of tortilla chips and salsa sauce. There are times when you have to let go of the chips for the greater good. For such times, you can give your taste buds a thrill by combining salsa in everyday food.

Give a twist to the traditional recipes using salsa sauce in a matter of no time. This article clubs top dishes that you can eat with salsa sauce.

Tomato soup

On a rainy day, when you’ve taken leave from work, there’s nothing more comforting than the warmth of a cozy blanket and a bowl steaming tomato soup. And what better option to add a little bit more tanginess to your bowl. A portion of salsa sauce is just the thing you need with grilled cheese and a hot bowl of soup.

Food You Can Eat With Salsa

Slow-cooked meat

Just throw in the meat of your choice, preferably boneless chicken in the slow cooker. Add the vegetables you like, along with beans and salsa sauce. Let the meat cook into a soft brown texture and serve hot with rice or tortillas.

This is a super affordable way to cook chicken without spending a lot on expensive spices and herbs. You can also side the dish up with avocados and lime wedges.

Rice

You can skip your regular boiled rice for an absolute miracle of a platter of tangy-spicy rice once in a while. Add half the portion of the water you usually use and add salsa as a replacement for the other half. You can either serve it as a bowl with stir-fried vegetables, meat, or as a base for Mexican dishes such as burrito.

Mexican food

You can alter salsa sauce for ketchup or tomato puree in the same proportion in the traditional recipes. This will not only enhance the flavors but also make the food more appetizing. This way, you can avoid buying a ton of spices.

Replacement for your dips

Although tortilla chips are the most popular thing to dip in salsa, there’s nothing that doesn’t go with salsa. Whether it’s potato chips, fries, fritters, or raw vegetables like carrots and celery, salsa can always be used on the side.

You can also try salsa as a dip for crispy fried chicken, bacon, mozzarella sticks as a replacement for ketchup or mayonnaise. Since you will be eating salsa directly without cooking, make sure to understand salsa’s shelf life as it only lasts up to two weeks. You should also try to consume it before the expiration date if using a store-bought product.

Seafood

Got a thing for seafood? There’s no need to worry; salsa sauce has got it covered. You can easily pan-fry your fish in salsa sauce for quick meal preparation. You can also serve crispy shrimp cutlets with salsa sauce on the side as a starter in parties and family dinners.

Noodles or pasta

You can take half the water part to cook your noodles or pasta in salsa sauce for a guaranteed enhance in flavors. Skip the tomato paste in red sauce pasta for salsa and experience an explosion of flavors in every bite.

Topping for your salad

There’s no way you won’t want to spice up your regular salad. A serving of the salsa sauce can change the way you think about your salad. It has just the right proportions of spice, sour and sweet tastes to make your plate of spinach and chicken.

Moreover, why just salads, anything that needs a topping can be topped with salsa sauce for a change of flavors. For example, baked beans, potatoes, steak, etc.

Pancakes

Although pancakes are traditionally served with sugary sauces or syrups, there’s no harm in experimenting with tastes. You can try pairing pancakes with salsa sauce as a side or can add it to the batter along with vegetables, onions, and eggs for a different taste.
